Directions:
Makaha, Hawaii
Ceremony starts promptly at 5:00 PM
Attire:
- We will be sporting "Aloha Attire," which for you mainlanders is somewhere in the middle of excessive formality and casual wear.
- Good suggestions may include nice pants, polo or button up shirts, and shoes or "slippahs" (sandals) for guys, and a nice summery dress for girls.
- Keep in mind, it will probably be warm to hot at the wedding.
Where to Stay
- Makaha is on the Western side of the island, and there is not as much to do out there, although it's well known for the amazing sunsets.
- Your best bet is to stay in Honolulu; there are countless hotels, along with a lot of things to do and see. It's easy access from the airport, and is about an hour away from the wedding site.
- If you want to be closer to the wedding site, and want more of a resort experience, check out Ko Olina; about 20 minutes from the wedding site, it is a beautiful resort with great food, hotels, golfing, and other attractions.
Directions:
- It may seem close by mainland standards, but things move slower on the islands. You should allow an hour from Waikiki or the Windward side
- It may seem like a hop and a skip from the North Shore, but you can't go around Kaena Point, so you have to drive to central Oahu and then back to Makaha. Again, you might want to allow an hour
- Take H-1 from Honolulu, H-2 from the North Shore and H-3 from the Windward side
- It's a beautiful drive from anywhere, enjoy the view!
